Join Serena Patel, author of the Anisha, Accidental Detective series, as she shares her journey to becoming an award-winning author and how she created her irrepressible heroine, Anisha Mistry. Serena will share her top tips for writing unique plots that will keep a reader hooked till the very last page. They’ll be a chance to use these tips to create your very own funny story inspired by the things you know best. The bigger, sillier and funnier the story, the better!

Serena Patel’s debut Anisha, Accidental Detective won the Sainsbury’s Children’s Book Award for Fiction and was shortlisted for the British Book Awards (Children’s Fiction) and the Blue Peter Book Awards in 2020. She is also co-editor with Robin Stevens of the children’s crime and mystery anthology, The Very Merry Murder Club. When not writing, she is a part-time law firm training co-ordinator and full time lover of chocolate cake.
