Raúf introduces her latest books, Hope On The Horizon and The Lion Above The Door. Onjali will share her experiences of growing up, what she loved to read, and how she came to write the modern classic, The Boy At the Back of the Class which draws on her work delivering emergency aid for refugees. Join Onjali for this inspirational event, full of heartwarming stories and the real life global issues behind them.

A self-declared feminist from the age of seven, Onjali worked in a number of human rights charities before founding Making Herstory, an organisation working to end domestic violence, abuse and trafficking of women and girls around the world; and O’s Refugee Aid Team, which mobilises emergency aid and funds to refugee frontline teams across northern France and in Greece. Her smash hit debut The Boy At the Back of the Class won the 2019 Blue Peter Book Award, the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize and was nominated for the Carnegie Medal.
