Indian-born author and storyteller Chitra Soundar brings two stories full of wonder and magic. Manju wants to get her Mum a birthday present. When she finds a genie in her grandmother’s lamp she and her cat Cumin have to decide what wishes to make. And watch out for the hungry tiger who’s trying to figure out whom to eat in an Indian jungle!

Chitra Soundar was born in Chennai and danced in a Bollywood movie as a kid before becoming a writer, storyteller and author of more than thirty books for children including Pattan’s Pumpkin which has been selected as a book in the Power of Reading series by the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education (CLPE). Her 2018 title You’re Safe With Me won the 3-Star Teach Early Years Award and was shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal. Chitra lives in London.
