“What an inspiring event! I went to see Joseph Coelho with my Year 3 class this morning and we had a fantastic time. The children thoroughly enjoyed watching Joseph perform his poems and there was a real buzz of excitement in the room. My class also relished the opportunity to join in with Joseph and come up with their own ideas for poems. As a teacher, it also gave me ideas about how to teach children to write poems and how to create an exciting poetry lesson. We would love to come back again next year!” S. Cole, Year 3 Leader, Barnes Primary School
“On behalf of the teachers and children in KS2 at Lowther, I would like to thank you for inviting us along to the Barnes Children’s Literature Festival today. It was a great opportunity to meet writers and to inspire the children further in their work. Year 5 enjoyed listening to Michelle Magorian and Years 3 and 4 came back raving about poetry! We’re so very lucky to have an event like this on our doorstep. Please let us know of any future opportunities that may come about. We would love to be a part of it!” L. Chalbot, Year 5 Teacher, Lowther Primary School
