How to have a BRILLIANT day at Barnes
The Festival is organised by families for families so we are 100% committed to making sure you have an amazing time during your visit to Barnes. Here’s a few of our top tips!

For our full ticketing terms and conditions, visit www.barneskidslitfest.org/terms
BOOKING
We do expect all children under the age of 11 to be accompanied by an adult. This means that adults will need to buy tickets too exactly as if you were going to the cinema. We cannot take responsibility for unsupervised children so please don’t drop them off and leave.
If you are attending an event for older children, then babies under the age of twelve months are free but if you are
coming to one of our babies or toddlers events then they will need a ticket.
AGE GUIDELINES
Our age guidelines are usually based on the reading age of the book, but you know your kids much better than we do, so if you’re happy they’ll enjoy the event, we’re happy!
DURATION
All our events last one hour unless stated otherwise in the programme and are usually following by book signing.
Doors to the venues open 20 minutes prior to the event starting. We know! Every event at Barnes is unmissable but we’d like to ask you not to book back to back events so you’re not arriving after the author has started their presentation.
ACCESS
Everyone is welcome at Barnes! Assistance animals too! All our venues are wheelchair accessible and if you can let us know you’re coming beforehand we can arrange priority seating for you.
LOST PROPERTY
Lost your phone? Lost your kids? Our HQ on Barnes Pond is a great place to start.
BEXIT
Barnes is our home and we really want you to treat it as your own. Please do help us to keep Barnes clean and green by disposing of your rubbish in the bins provided and taking everything home that you brought with you.
PLEASE REMEMBER
All the information in this programme is correct at the time of printing. We’d never cancel an event or switch a venue unless it was absolutely necessary but our authors and artists are real people, just like us, and sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances we do need to cancel or substitute an event. We ask you to understand.
