Are you an aspiring children’s author who can’t find a home for you story? Or perhaps you’re already published but curious to understand more about your other choices?

In this 90-minute session Karen Inglis will introduce you to the key options for self-publishing in print and for Kindle/eReaders, as well as giving tips on how to find and work with illustrators, editors and formatters and – crucially – how to get your self-published book into young readers’ hands (Hint: this is the most challenging part of the process!)

She will also provide an overview of self-publishing costs and royalties and explain how to spot and avoid unscrupulous self-publishing services whose only aim is to take your money.

Karen regularly goes into schools with her six titles and is Children’s Advisor at the Alliance of Independent Authors. Her time travel adventure, The Secret Lake, continues to be her best seller both in the UK and USA and has now been enjoyed by over 7,000 readers. Karen has been praised by teachers, librarians and reading charities for producing fun, fast-paced stories that keep the most reluctant of readers turning the pages.

Karen’s title ‘How to Self-publish and Market a Children’s Book’ is due out in June 2018. With a fair wind it will be on sale on the day!
