Travel back in time with master storyteller, Marcia Williams as she talks about the true history behind her first fiction novel, Cloud Boy. Find out how she weaves together the real story of the Changi Guide quilt made in World War 2, with the fictional story of the feisty and loveable Angie Moon. Marcia appears with Olga Henderson, one of the last surviving Girl Guides from Changi Prisoner of War Camp in Singapore. You’ll be truly inspired by just how brave children can be both now and then.

Marcia Williams is probably best known for her hilarious comic strip style retellings of classic stories including Shakespeare and Charles Dickens. Marcia has lived in Barnes since she was sixteen. She was a former nursery school teacher at The Ducklings by Barnes Pond and studied watercolour at Richmond College before going on to publish more than thirty books for children including the multi-award winning Archie’s War.
