Are you an aspiring children’s author who can’t find a home for you story? Already published but curious to understand more about your other choices? Or perhaps you’re self-published and looking for help or marketing tips?

In this 90-minute session Amazon UK bestselling children’s author Karen Inglis will introduce you to the key options for self-publishing in print and for Kindle/eReaders, as well as giving tips on how to find and work with illustrators, editors and formatters and – crucially – how to get your self-published book into young readers’ hands through effective marketing. (Hint: this is the most challenging part of the process!)

She will also provide an overview of self-publishing costs and royalties, and explain how to spot and avoid unscrupulous self-publishing services whose only aim is to take your money.

Karen regularly goes into schools with her six titles and is Children’s Advisor at the Alliance of Independent Authors. Her time travel adventure The Secret Lake hit the Amazon UK bestseller lists in 2018 and in 2019 signed its first foreign rights deal. It continues to be her best seller both in the UK and USA and has now been enjoyed by over 20,000 readers.

Karen has been praised by teachers, librarians and reading charities for producing fun, fast-paced stories that keep the most reluctant of readers turning the pages.

There’ll be a free children’s self-publishing ‘top tips’ checklist to take home. Karen’s title ‘Self-publishing and Marketing Children’s Books’ – which has received glowing reviews in both the UK and USA – will be on sale on the day.
