What is DNA and where in our bodies do we find it? When Annabelle and Harry’s dog Millie is stolen can they use the clues to catch the pet thief? Find out what it’s like to be a real forensic scientist and collect evidence from the crime scene to help them solve the crime in this fun interactive session based on Mandy’s book The DNA Detectives – To Catch A Thief.

Dr Mandy Hartley has a degree in pathobiology and a PhD in genetics and is a science educator and author. She has fifteen years experience working in genetics using DNA to research the cause of disease in patients with diabetes, haemophilia, breast cancer, cystic fibrosis and different kidney diseases, as well as working on criminal cases and tracing long lost families using relationship testing.

Mandy also regularly writes articles for children’s science magazines and acts as a consultant for children’s science books.
